SSL

   The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) was first developed by Netscape
   to secure browser-to-web-server communication channels.
   OpenSSL is an industry-standard package of cryptographic
   services that provides SSL and Transaction Layer Security
   (TLS) protocols. Additionally, OpenSSL provides client/server
   authentication, encryption, and message integrity services for
   secure communications on the TCP/IP protocol.

   For more information, see the VSI Open Source Security for
   OpenVMS, Volume 2: VSI SSL for OpenVMS.

   To check whether VSI SSL is installed on your system, enter the
   following command:

   $ PRODUCT SHOW PRODUCT SSL

   If VSI SSL is installed on your system, you can find the release
   notes by entering the following command:

   $ DIRECTORY SYS$HELP:SSL*.RELEASE_NOTES

                                  NOTE

      NOTE: For information about System Service Logging
      (SSLOG)-a totally different utility- see help for SSLOG,
