FORM

 Indicates whether the file is being connected for formatted,
 unformatted, or binary data transfer.  It takes the following form:

 FORM = ft

 ft  Is a character expression with one of the following 
     values:

   'FORMATTED'         Formatted *DEFAULT FOR SEQUENTIAL ACCESS*
   'UNFORMATTED'       Unformatted *DEFAULT FOR KEYED
                         AND DIRECT ACCESS*
   'BINARY'            Binary
