ACCESS

 Indicates the access method for the connection of the file.  It
 takes the following form:

 ACCESS = acc

 acc  Is a character expression with one of the following 
      values:

 'DIRECT'           Access by record number
 'SEQUENTIAL'       Access sequentially (the default)
 'KEYED'            Access by a specified key
 'APPEND'           Access sequentially, after the last record 
                     of the file
