To change the active view window to an unrestricted
  variable view, perform the following steps:

  1. Pull down the View menu.

  2. Choose the Variable... menu item.

  To create a new view window displaying variables,
  perform the following steps:

  1. Pull down the View menu.

  2. Choose the New menu item and the Variable submenu
     item.
