                 Format:
                         SHOW <parameter>

1  –  CONNECTIONS

                 SHOW CONNECTIONS displays the World Wide Names of each
                 Host Bus Adapter (HBA) attached to the controller. If
                 connections between the HBAs and the MSA have been given
                 user-defined names, these names are also displayed.

                 Note:
                      - The SHOW CONNECTIONS command is applicable only for
                        MSA and not Smart Array controllers.

                      - Use the SHOW CONNECTIONS command to verify that all
                        connections to the MSA are recognized and defined.

                      - Use the SHOW CONNECTIONS command to display information
                        about each HBA connected to the MSA, including
                        connection name, WWPN, and profile.

                  Format:

                      Provides logging that can be interpreted by engineering.

                      MSA> SHOW CONNECTIONS

                      Command options
                      CONNECTION NAME-the name of a specific connection to
                      display.

                      Example MSA$UTIL response:

2  –  CONTROLLER

                 SHOW CONTROLLER displays the specified controller's
                 information if the controller name is provided. If
                 the controller name is not provided, then information
                 of all the connected controllers is displayed.

                 The SHOW CONTROLLER command is synonymous to the
                 SHOW ADAPTER command.

                 Note: If the context is set to a specific controller
                       and the controller name is not provided, then
                       SHOW CONTROLLER displays information pertaining
                       only to the controller to which the context is
                       set.

                 Displays the Bus number of the controller.

2.2.2    /BRIEF

                 Displays limited information of the controller.

                 Displays information of all the controllers.

2.2.5    /FULL

                 Displays extensive information of the controller.

2.2.6    /REVISION

                 Displays the firmware version of the controller along
                 with the default information for the controller.

2.2.7    /SUBSYSTEM

                 Displays the Subsystem ID of the controller.

2.2.8    /VERBOSE

                 Provides logging that can be interpreted by engineering.

3  –  DEVICE

3.1  –  NONDISK

                  SHOW DEVICE NONDISK displays the following information
                  for all non-disk devices:

                  - WWID

                  - Vendor ID

                  - Product ID

                  - Serial number

                  Note: This command is applicable only to P800 and P400
                        controllers.

                  Format:
                          SHOW DEVICE NONDISK / <qualifiers>

3.2  –  Parameters

                  None

3.3  –  Qualifiers

3.3.1    /VERBOSE

                  Provides logging that can be interpreted by engineering.

4  –  DISKS

                      SHOW DISKS displays the following information on
                      all available physical disks:

                      - Disk number

                      - Enclosure bus number and ID

                      - Disk size

                      - UNIT created on the disk

                      - Disks assigned as spares

                      Note:
                            - SHOW DISK <disk_n> can be used to see
                              information of a particular disk,
                              where disk_n is the disk number. Disks
                              are identified by their corresponding
                              SCSI bus and SCSI IDs for all the controllers.
                              For SAS controllers, internally connected
                              disks are numbered based on their bay numbers
                              and externally connected disks are numbered
                              based on combination of their box number
                              and bay number as
                              "disk_n" = box Number *100 + bay number".

                              Examples
                              For SAS controllers, the output of
                              SHOW DISK command is as follows:

4.2.1    /AVAILABLE

                    Lists all the disks on which there are no units
                    configured.

4.2.2    /ENCLOSURE

                    Displays all the disks connected to a particular
                    enclosure.

                    Note: Supported only for SAS controllers.

                    Format:
                             SHOW DISKS/ENCLOSURE = <enclosure_n>

4.2.3    /FULL

                    Displays the drive model and the drive serial number
                    in addition to the disk information.

                    Note: For Smart Array P400 series of controllers, the
                          following information is displayed:

                          - Connector Location
                          - Connector
                          - Enclosure
                          - Bay
                          - WWID
                          - Device Type
                          - Disk Capacity
                          - Device Status
                          - Device Vendor ID
                          - Device Product ID
                          - Device Serial Number
                          - Device Firmware Version
                          - Reserved Area (cfg/status information)
                          - Block Size (bytes/sector)
                          - M&P Data Stamped
                          - Last Failure Reason
                          - Physical Disk Flags

4.2.4    /MEMBER

                    Displays the disks on which the units are configured.

4.2.5    /SPARES

                    Displays the disks that are configured as spare for
                    logical units.

4.2.6    /SSD

                    Displays SAS SSD devices and its properties.

4.2.7    /VERBOSE

                    Provides logging that can be interpreted by engineering.

5.2.1    /BRIEF

                    Displays the global parameters information of the
                    controller.

5.2.2    /FULL

                    Displays the WWID information in addition to the global
                    parameters information of the controller.

5.2.3    /VERBOSE

                    Provides logging that can be interpreted by engineering.

5.3  –  Examples

                      SHOW PROFILE displays all the profile names.

                      Provides logging that can be interpreted by engineering.

7  –  OTHER_CONTROLLER

                      SHOW OTHER_CONTROLLER displays information about the
                      controller that's either STANDBY or ACTIVE to the
                      controller to which the context is set.

                      This is not supported for SMART ARRAY.

                      Format:
                              SHOW OTHER_CONTROLLER

8  –  THIS_CONTROLLER

                      SHOW THIS_CONTROLLER displays information about
                      the controller to which the context is set.
                      The state of this controller could be either
                      ACTIVE or STANDBY.

                      This is applicable for both SMART ARRAY and
                      MSA1000/MSA1500 type of controllers.

                      Format:
                              SHOW THIS_CONTROLLER

9  –  UNIT

                      SHOW UNIT displays the following information for the
                      specified UNIT:

                      - UNIT identifier (user-defined name)

                      - UNIT status

                      - Percentage rebuild

                      - List of the disks assigned as data disks to the UNIT

                      - List of the disks assigned as spares to the UNIT

                      - RAID level

                      - UNIT size

                      Format:
                              SHOW UNIT <unit_n> / <qualifiers>

                      SHOW UNITS:

                      SHOW UNITS displays information of all the logical
                      volumes configured on the controller. This command
                      does not take the parameter unit_n.

                      Note: From the CLI of MSA1000/MSA1500 controllers,
                            if ACLs are enabled for the UNITs with respect
                            to the connections (HBAs to which these
                            controllers are connected), then only those
                            corresponding UNITs will be visible to the
                            respective HBAs.

                            After the ACLs are enabled, if the user creates
                            any UNITs on these controllers (either from CLI
                            or MSA_UTIL), then the user will have to set the
                            ACLs explicitly for these UNITs to be visible.

                      Displays the physical configuration information of
                      the UNIT in addition to the UNIT information.

9.2.2    /VERBOSE

10  –  VERSION

                      SHOW VERSION displays the MSA$UTIL
                      version number.

                      Displays the WWID, firmware version and controller
                      revision information in addition to the MSA$UTIL
                      version.

                 SHOW TECH_SUPPORT executes the following commands
                 in a batch mode:
