Syntax:  NEW SELECTION MARK

  Marks a position as one end of a selected range.

  This command marks a position as one end of the selected range
  between the select marker and the current cursor position.  The range
  is denoted by reverse video display.  This command is not valid if
  the select marker has already been set.
