  Canceling and Reinstating Edits

The Notepad editor defines a single edit as all keystrokes
entered since the last time you either pressed the Delete key
or repositioned the cursor by moving the pointer and pressing
  MB1.

Choose Undo... from the Edit menu to cancel the most recent
edit. To reinstate this edit, choose Redo from the Edit menu.

The Notepad editor also allows you to cancel and reinstate a
series of edits. Choose Undo... from the Edit menu. A dialog
  box appears.

Click on the Undo button to cancel one edit at a time. Click
on the Redo button to reinstate one edit at a time, beginning
with the most recently canceled edit. Click on the Cancel
button to remove the dialog box from the screen.
